Two months ago my girlfriend and I were spending a quality time date by going to the mall. We were windows shopping and also bought some stuffs. It was 4 PM and it was too early to go home so we decided to watch a movie. We were looking for the available movies. We saw one of the movies titled Drag me to Hell. The description was "Christine Brown has a good job, a great boyfriend, and a bright future. But in three days, she's going to hell."
My girlfriend said that description is almost like my description right now. She said: "I have a good job, a great boyfriend(That's me), and a bright future." So we decided to watch the movie. Of course she is not going to hell (my girlfriend that is). ;)
Sypnosis:
Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long). Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks (David Paymer), and get a leg-up on a promotion? Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home.
In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas (Dileep Rao) to save her soul from eternal damnation. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces close in, Christine must face the unthinkable: how far will she go to break free of the curse?
This movie really scared the hell out of me. I wonder if that's the appropriate term for it but it was really scary. Almost everyone was screaming inside the cinema. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Who could forget the beautiful face Christine Brown. The story follows Christine Brown, a young woman who is looking to move up the corporate ladder at the bank where she's employed. Her boss tells her that she must learn to make the hard decisions if she wants a promotion and the first time she attempts this she forecloses the house of a disgusting, old, gypsy woman. By the way don't EVER screw with gypsies especially an old one with curses. I can't forget her face. I couldn't forget it for TWO NIGHTS!
The dilapidated crone waits for Christine in the parking garage (in Raimi's beat up Oldsmobile!) and applies the 'Curse of Lamia'. The Lamia is a devil goat that loves the taste of souls. It takes three days to fully manifest and then the demon comes looking for its meal which gets dragged back to Hell for consumption. One of the scariest part was when she was in the car.
Okay, enough spoilers! The movie is was directed by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man and The Evil Dead Trilogy) and starred by Alison Lohman, Lorna Ravers, Justin Long David Paymers, Dileep Rao and Adrina Barraza.
